Understanding Behaviors in Home Health
Some of the patients you care for have dementia, which is a disease that affects the way they think. Patients with dementia will express different behaviors that you may see when you provide care. You should try to identify the meaning behind those behaviors. To do this, you need to view the environment from the patient’s perspective. Once you understand the meaning behind the behaviors, you can intervene in an appropriate way. The goal of this educational program is to provide general staff in home health care with education about patient behaviors and appropriate interventions.
